Respite

I had a good day today. Bataav and I flew down to Syndicate to meet with John Revenent and discuss the recent hostilities in Intaki. It was my first time meeting the Taisho in person.

There’s a long history between I-RED and IPI, one I want to respect and honor. But we also need to ensure our individualism from them. It’s funny, in a way. We’re secessionists—how fitting then that I find myself needing to contemplate ways to better maintain our separation from our closest ally. Cooperating with I-RED should still be possible while wiping out the public’s harmful perception. It’s a positive move for us to take those steps. At some point in the future I’ll need to discuss it with Taisho Revenent to ensure he understands what we have to do. I think he will.

I also met someone else today for the first time: Caellach Marellus. He flew down to Intaki just to have a drink with me, simply because he could. I’m not sure I’ve laughed that much in ages.

It was a welcome respite, and hopefully a sign of good things to come.
